HTC One M9_Silver_Right

HTC’s big event at the 2015 Mobile World congress happened earlier this morning, and they have unleashed the HTC One M9, which continues the HTC One line. They are calling it their “most personal, beautiful and powerful smartphone yet” and it brings several improvements. It will be landing on AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the early Spring. It will also be available from HTC.com, Amazon, Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile specialty stores, Costco Wholesale and Target.

The One M9 continues with an all metal design and this year it has a two-tone metal design. It will come with a tone silver or rose gold finish and has very distinct edges, all-in-all it looks very similar to the One M8. You till have the two BoomSound Speakers on the back, but gone is the DuoSense lens with a UltraPixel camera on the back, you have a square lens along with an LED flash. The device itself comes in at 157 grams and is 9.61 millimeters thick.

The One M9 is running HTC Sense 7 which puts you in control of everything, and it is running on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is a new themes mode, which intelligently puts you in the control seat, you can choose you favorite photo and with Sense 7 it will customize the software experience around it. Plus, it has different modes which will recognize your location and customize your home screen for it. Lastly, with BlinkFeed it now has location-based recommendations for news updates, events, and more. Powering the device is a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 810 octa-core CPU, which is made up of four 2GHz and for 1.5GHz 64-bit processing powers. Plus, providing even more power is a large 3GBs of RAM. It will have 32GB of internal storage, plus a micro SD card slot.

HTC Connect allows you to send media, with a three finger swipe, to compatible products. You can send music, photos, and videos to televisions and speakers. Now, of course you can use the BoomSound speakers on the device which have been updated with an even better experience. They now feature 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound and HTC promises the One M9 has one of the best sounding experiences on the market. The One M9 has a 5-inch Full HD 1080p display and is still compatible with DotView cases. HTC is saying the M9 should get around 20 hours of talk time thanks to a 2840Ah battery.

The biggest change with the One M9 is with the camera, it now has a 20 megapixel camera with a saphire lens on the back along with f/2.2, 27.8mm lens, 4K video recording, auto focus, and a BSI sensor on the back. The UltraPixel is not dead, there is a UltraPixel lens on the front with a BSI sensor, f/2.0, 26.8mm lens, 1080p and video recording. HTC has a new software experience that will allow you to implant effects like Shapes, Prismatic, Elements and Bokeh, all while still being able to use HTC Zoe. HTC wants you to zoom in on photos now and the new camera setup with a 2o megapixel lens, should perform better than the M7 and M8.
