Stratos Puts All Of Your Plastic Cards Into One Connected Card

Stratos Lifestyle 5

These past few months, connected payments have been on the rise, in September we saw Apple Pay, the first payment platform from Apple. Then this week we saw Samsung Pay, which is a result of Samsung buying Loop Pay, and then Android Pay is a revamp of Google Wallet. But, we have also seen connected cards come and then eventually go, you might remember Coin. Today, we have new connected card which might just make it big, as it is has some unique features and a definitive shipping time of next month, April 2015.

Stratos is a new Connected Card, it will put all of your plastic cards into one smart card, that will work everywhere traditional cards are accepted. You can put credit, debit, gift, loyalty, and membership cards all on to the Stratos. It can be any of those cards whenever and wherever you need it to be. This is a clear difference between Stratos and Apple or Samsung Pay, as they are limited to credit and debit cards for the time being, Stratos can handle many others. The Stratos Bluetooth Connected Card looks very similar to that of a traditional card, it is not much thicker than the traditional one, yet inside it features a battery and Bluetooth technologies. They give you quite a bit of choice as well, you can choose from several colors, those being Slate, White, Blue, Salmon and Green.

Setting up the card is quite simple, out of the box you get your Stratos Card and a reader. You load as many cards as you would like on to your mobile phone via the reader and then you can sync those cards to the Stratos via Bluetooth. When you are ready to pay, simply pull out your Stratos card, choose your preferred payment card and just swipe. You can choose three cards, that will be called your Top Three and those will always be available to choose from, via three buttons on the card. This is a nice feature to have in case your smartphone runs low on battery. Stratos will have a mobile application for both iOS and Android devices, as well.

Security is key for any smart device that has access to a payment forms and Stratos recognizes this. The Stratos card features Security Lock Down, which will turn off the card if it not in proximity to their smartphone. It has bank-level-encryption as well, which is the same technology behind your pin number. The mobile application will allow you to view and organize all of your cards securely. Plus, Stratos will also have personalized member support, free annual upgrades, and replacement cards.
