This week, AT&T announced that they are expanding this service to Miami and Fort Lauderdale in Florida, and in these areas they are the first provider to offer these fast internet speeds.

GigaPower will provide some pretty fast speeds and it will decrease the amount of time it takes to download music, stream a movie, and even to a visit a website. AT&T believes that with the launch of this service Miami and Fort Lauderdale, that it will help to encourage economic development by facilitating a new wave of innovation through enhanced opportunities for education, health, research and small business growth. Customers who choose U-verse with GigaPower will get an upgrade router, 99.9% reliability for up time, and the new router will ensure all of your devices get the faster WiFi connection.

AT&T offers several plans, including single, double and triple play bundles; the first is the High Speed Internet Premier bundle. This will start for as low as $120 a month for speeds up to 1 gigabit, but for around $90 a month you can get speeds up to 100Mbps. With the High Speed Internet Premier plan you can get the 1 gigabit speeds for $150 and 100Mbps speeds for $120 a month. And lastly, with the High Speed Internet Premier + TV + Voice the 1 gigabit speeds come for $180 a month and the 100Mbps speeds start at $150. You can check with U-verse in your local area to get exact pricing and to see what each package comes with. It will be interesting to see where AT&T expands GigaPower too next, maybe New Jersey or New York?
