WorldMap_Facebook

AT&T’s Connect Ability Challenge is a unique contests that ask developers to create new technologies and applications that will benefit the disabled. Developers have been working for the past three months, and today AT&T has opened up voting to the public and it will remain open until July 10th 2015. You and the rest of the public will be able to vote for the Popular Choice winner for this technology competition.

The Connect Ability Challenge is sponsored and put together by AT&T and New York University’s ABILITY Lab. Developers have designed and created more 63 solutions and they came from 16 states in the United States, as well as from 15 countries from around the world. These submissions can be anytime of technology, many of them are mobile applications, but there are also hardware solutions.

The winners of the Connect Ability Challenge will be announced on the 25th Anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26th in New York City. AT&T will be awarding $100,000 in prizes to the winners of the challenge. Public voting is open now until July 10th and you can cast your Vote Here!

On a final note, AT&T is really cracking into a very special and important area of application and technology development. And those who submitted to the contest, had the opportunity to meet with people living with the types of disabilities that they are creating for. AT&T called them Exemplars and four of them were part of the Connect Ability Challenge, and with the help from these new applications and technologies they will be making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
