Verizon FiOS launches 100/100Mbps internet speed in the NY Metro Region

Verizon Launches A New FiOS TV Media Guide - NJTechReviews

Verizon FiOS is providing a new internet speed their for their customers in the New York Metro Region, they have just launched a new 100/100Mbps internet speed! This new 100 mega bits per second symmetrical service is launching in New York City, Long Island, the northern suburbs and northern New Jersey today. This will bring a new level of speed for FiOS customers, meaning that you stream a movie, upload photos, and download music at a much faster rate.

This new 100/100Mbps service is only available from Verizon FiOS in the New York Metro Region. This new level of speed is closing the gap between the current speed levels, which jump from 75/75Mbps to 150/150Mbps. It is great to see that Verizon continues to update, upgrade, and enhance their 100-percent fiber-optic network, in fact in New York City they have invested $3.5 billion to build out their network. It is the largest single fiber optic network deployment in United States history and they have used over 5,000 miles of fiber-optic cabling throughout New York City.

Verizon is creating some special deals as well, to make the upgrade to faster internet more affordable. One of those deals is a triple play bundle for$89.99 a month with a two-year price guarantee and without the need for a contract, new FiOS subscribers can get the 100/100Mbps Internet service, FiOS Custom TV and FiOS Voice services. With this plan you will also get a $300 Visa reward card, an HD Set Top Box for 12 months and a year of fully loaded Premium Channels. Verizon is noting that after the promotional two-year period, the monthly price for the triple-play bundle will increase by $20. While a price increase is never fun, it is nice that Verizon tells you up front and ahead of time.

They currently offer symmetrical speed tiers of 25, 50, 75,150, 300 and 500. And in Southern California they also recently launched the 100/100Mbps tier. Let us know if you make the upgrade to the 100/100Mbps internet speed from Verizon FiOS!
