Our Friends over at EA Games sent us over a copy of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters for us to review. We will be reviewing the XBOX 360 version of the game. It was released on March 29th, 2011. It is a very highly anticipated game. They have made many improvements in game play and in graphics especially. It is supposed to be the best version yet, and much better than the previous versions. So let’s dive into the full review on “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters”!
The biggest and most popular improvement found in the game is the addition of the “Caddy”. You now have a caddy in your game. It will be a great help for both the amateurs and the pros. The new feature “Caddy” is a great add-on. It will help you make tough decisions while playing the game. It is available in “Quick Play” and “Road To The Masters”. The Caddy will let you know which shot he is suggesting is more safe than the other. Also, if you ask him he will give you more info on each individual play. This comes in great for amateurs and pros. He normally gives you 1 or 2 of the shots he suggests, and the option to do a custom shot. There are also many great improvements in the graphics of the game. This is not only found in the nature of the golf course but, also the player’s themselves. Were completely redesigned and look superb. All of the players look just the like the real people in life. The graphics improvements help make the game more realistic and better to play. All of these improvements help make this the best Golf Game On The Market.
There are 2 modes in “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters, “Quick Play” and “Road To The Masters”. In Quick Play you choose the player, which course and how many holes. Quick play is also available if you want to play online. This will give you more of a challenge than the computer playing against you. “Road To The Masters” is the career part of the game. You start as an amateur golfer and move your way up to the pros. You get sponsors along the way, which help you improve your game. The sponsors will give you objectives if you get everything on the list, you get a reward. It’s usually a new set of clubs or cash. Either way it definitely helps improve your game. The caddy comes especially hand in the career mode. It will give you guiding tips through out the your career. In the end or in the long run it will help you become the best golfer than you can be. By the time you make the pros, you’ll be as good as Tiger Woods. When you get a sponsor you will start getting a practice and sponsor day before you actual match. The practice is when you can go out and test the green, this will help your prepare for the game itself and the sponsor day. The sponsor day is when you go and out so your sponsor how good you are. It is usually only a couple of holes, but your sponsors are proud of you on what you do that day. It will help you level up your sponsorship. Overall the “Road To The Masters” is not a career mode you will finish in a day or two. It will take longer than that. It is the best part of the game i feel, all players should play the “Road To The Masters”.
The game play is very easy for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. It is similar to the other past games in this series. On the XBOX 360 the games mainly consists of the Left Stick, as this is how you swing. You will pull back and this push the stick up to swing your gold club. To choose the plays that the Caddy thinks are good you will go back and with “LB” and “RB”. The controls are quite simple which makes for an excellent game play. You will also use the 4 up, down, left and right keys at times during the game. For instance you will sue them for directing your putt, when your on the green. The ABYX keys come in handy for navigating around the menus of the game. Overall the controls of the game make for an excellent experience with the game play.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is the future of all Golf Games on the market. It is the most true to the sport game out there. With all the new feature that they have added it will make for the ultimate golf experience in your living room. You feel like you are actually at the masters.
