Have you ever wondered what the army uses as their Smartphone? Well Android is its operating system. The United States Army has asked Android app developers to make a Smartphone using the Android based platform called Joint Battle Command Platform. This fragment of Android will come with mission command applications, including mapping, blue force tracking, tactical ground reporting, critical messaging, an address book, and open office. The Android device is in prototype stage at the moment. Part of the reason to have a Smartphone in the hands of a soldier is to bring more mobile communication capabilities to soldiers in warfare. The Army will release the development kit this summer. Developers will be able to create applications that can be beneficial to soldiers. Technology will help our Army become even better than before.
