Samsung Infuse 4G

Just a couple of weeks ago Samsung introduced the Infuse 4G. We now have the full review of it. Samsung has another great 4G phone on the market, that would be the Samsung Droid Charge. They also put out the Samsung Galaxy S II, not in the US yet. The Infuse 4G is $199 on contract with AT&T. It has a very big 4.5inch and very clear screen. A high-end design to the phone. Let’s dive into the full review on the Samsung Infuse 4G.

Hardware

The Infuse 4G is thin, at its thickest it is .36-inches. This helps the size of the phone. It has an amazing 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. The screen makes the phone big, but it only weighs .29 pounds. So there is really nothing to wear about there. The phone is a rectangle with a little bump on the back of the phone. The back has some nice texture on it, make’s it more comfortable in your hand. Add’s some feel to the phone. Under the back you have your sim card, and a big 1,750mAh battery. Under that you have a slot for a micro SD card, it comes with a 2GB card pre-installed. However, inside the phone it has 2GB for apps and 13GB’s for what ever you like. It has up to 16GB available. Thus making it a pretty high-end phone. The speakerphone is located on the back, it has very good sound. Same as the normal call quality on the phone. You also have your 8 mega-pixel camera on the back above the LED flash. We have a feeling that it may be the same camera that is in the Samsung Droid Charge. The photo quality is insane. When recording video it records in 720pHD and has auto-focus. You can view that video on your TV via the HDMI to your TV. The Infuse 4G does not have a port on it but, it come’s with a dongle that will work just as well.  On the front you also have a 1.3 megapixel camera for video calling or taking self portraits.

Display

Samsung is known for their amazing display, and belive it or not they may have topped them selves again with the Infuse 4G. The screen is 4.5 inches on this phone. This is bigger than the average 4.3 inch screens we’ve been seeing. One thing that is not different is how amazing this phone is. The resolution is still the normal 800 x 480. The brightness and contrast of the display makes for an amazing viewing experience. All of the colors are very rich, from almost any viewing angle.

Battery Life

The battery life on the Samsung Droid Charge was very good. They packed a bigger battery in the Infuse 4G and the battery life is just as good. It will get through day of typical user usage. If your into giving WiFi to people we suggest you plug it in. As with any phone sharing it’s WiFi it battery get depleted faster than normal. So if you want more than a couple of hours we suggest you plug it on in. Overall the battery life is very good.

Peformance

AT&T’s first 21Mbps HSPA+ smart phone, is the Infuse 4G. This is AT&T’s fastest speed yet. It was really hit or miss with the speeds on AT&T. At first we had some connection issues but, we got them resolved. We use the “SPEEDTEST.NET App” for our data testing. You can see our results below.

Ping 451ms, Download .17mbps, Upload .14mbps

Ping 27ms, Download .17mbps, Upload .09mbps

So as you can see the speeds are very hit or miss. It all depends on their network coverage in your area. Overall we had around 1-3 bars at a time, so not really the best connection. As AT&T imporves their network, the speed on the Infuse 4G will improve.

Camera

The Infuse 4G is packing a 8 mega-pixel with LED Flash in the back. In the front we have a 1.3 mega-pixel. Overall the camera on the Infuse 4G is amazing. One of the best we have seen. It also records in 720pHD and has built-in auto focus. It also has many of the normal Samsung Camera features inside of the App itself. Overall the camera on the Infuse 4G, is great!
