The Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G won’t be available until August 21 2011, but NJTechReviews has the full review already! Now, let’s get started with the full review on the Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G!

Hardware And Design

The Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G is a high-end smart phone, with a price that is low. It is a Dual-mode 3G/4G device, so if one network is down you have access to the other one. It also supports 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot, you can have up to 5 devices connected at a time using the Hot-Spot. It has a 1GHz processor, this gives the phone speed and makes it run smoothly. It has a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, with a resolution of 320×480. The screen is a good size, although the keyboard can feel cramped at times. Under the screen you have the Sprint logo and your Android buttons. Those are settings, home, back, and search. We should note that they are actual buttons, with a little light behind them. They come in very handy when using the phone. On the top of the screen you have the Samsung Logo, your Earpiece, LED Indicator, and a 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera. On the right hand side, you have your camera button. When you push it the first time it opens the camera app, then from there it becomes your shutter button. Just push it in and your taking a photo. On the left hand side you have your volume rocker. On the bottom of the phone you have your microUSB port. On the top of the phone you have your power/sleep button and your headphone jack. The power/sleep button is a small aluminum circle, it adds to color of the phone. The whole siding of the phone is aluminum, while the rest of the phone is black. On the back of the Conquer 4G you have your 3.2 mega-pixe camera, Flash, microphone/speaker, and the Samsung Logo. It is a matte black finish for the backing of the phone. Under the cover of the backing, you will find your battery(a 1500 mAh Lithium-ion battery)  and micro SD card. The SD card is in the top left hand corner. It comes pre-installed with a 2GB micro SD card, however it can hold up to a 32GB micro SD card. You can also see the speaker next to the camera and flash. The Conquer 4G’s dimensions are 4.57 inches x 2.38 inches x 0.46 inches(LxWxH). So, it is not the world’s smallest phone. It weighs 4.1 ounces, so it is not that heavy at all. It is very comfortable to hold it in your hand. Overall the hardware is top-notch in the Samsung Conquer 4G; The design of the phone is very nice as well.

Operating System(OS)-Android 2.3 Gingerbread

The Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This the latest version of Android, so it is already up-to-date out of the box. It also has something call “Sprint ID” built into the OS. Sprint ID gives you a variety of apps, widgets, shortcuts, ringtones and wallpapers. It is designed to meet the User’s mobile needs and interests in just a few simple clicks. The Sprint ID packs are free for Everything Data plan. You can download 5(five) of them at once. There are several different ID packs available, Such as; E! (keep up with your favorite celebrities), Green (tips to live a greener lifestyle), MTV Music ID (mobile music experience), and Socially Connected (keep connected with friends on-the-go), Team Radio shack, Green ID, And Many More. The Sprint ID Packs give customization that is already pre-made. This enables the user to go looking for the ID Pack that they like, while still having the choice to customize their phone by themselves. Sprint ID is the main way to Customize the Samsung Conquer 4G. The only issue i found with the OS(Operating System) was that the keyboard was small at times. This is because of the size of the screen, tho issue only came up when i had to type a lot on the phone. Overall Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Sprint ID running on the Samsung Conquer 4G is great!

Bottom Line

The Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G is an all around great phone. It is Sprint’s 25th 4G phone and it is the first that is under $100 with a contract. It has the price of a low-end phone but, the specs of a high-end phone. Samsung and Sprint really hit it right, this time. While, there are very little OS changes from Samsung, “Sprint ID” lets you customize the phone. It is a 3G/4G phone, 2 cameras, Mobile hot-spot 3G/4G, and so much more. The phone will cost $100 with a 2-year contract and it will be available on August 21, 2011. You Can Get More Info On The Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G, By Clicking Here. We would like to thank “Samsung” for providing us with a copy of the “Sprint Samsung Conquer 4G”.
