The website This Is My Next has reported that the next version of the Android, after Ice Cream Sandwich, will be named Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean will supposedly include the features that were not included on Ice Cream Sandwich. Since Android’s inception, Google has named each of its major releases after a dessert, beginning with names using the letter C. The names of the operating systems have been Cupcake, Doughnut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, and Ice Cream Sandwich. This follows the alphabetical order Google is using for nomenclature. Until the official word from Google, the rumors are that Jelly Bean has a great chance of being the next operating system name because of the lack of desserts that start with the letter ‘J’. Until then we’ll keep you posted on the latest news regarding this matter.
