Our friends over at Sprint have sent us the HTC EVO View 4G for review. We are very impressed with the HTC EVO View 4G and now we have the full review on it for you. It is Sprint’s/ The USA’s First 4G Tablet. Now let’s get started with the full review of the Sprint HTC EVO View 4G!
The HTC EVO View 4G is very similar to the HTC Flyer. The color of the unit is mainly black, but different shades of it. There are 2 rubber bumps on top and bottom of the back. You also have the 5 mega-pixel camera on the back, it has a red aluminum ring around it. You also have 2(two)_ speakers on the back, that have a red aluminum lining around it. The 2(two) rubber bumps, make it easier and more comfortable to hold the tablet when it is in landscape mode. Having a 7-inch tablet does have it’s advantages. For starters it is easier to hold and more easier to use. For instance when your typing in landscape mode on a 10 inch tablet, you have to stretch your fingers to type. On the HTC EVO View 4G it very easy to type in landscape mode. The overall control of a 7 inch tablet, seems much easier than that of controlling a 10 inch. On the top of the tablet you have your sleep/unlock button and your headphone jack. On the right hand side you have your metal volume rocker. On the bottom you have your charging port. On the front right hand side of the tablet you have your 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing camera. You also have your normal android buttons on the bottom, they are touch buttons and do move and disappear depending on what way you are holding the tablet. It has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600. It is a great screen, you can view it from almost any angle. It also has easy viewing in direct sunlight or just around the house. The speakers on the HTC EVO View 4G are great as well the sound is very clear and can get pretty loud. The battery life on the HTC EVO View 4G is great, it changes the idea about battery life for 4G devices. The battery will last you a full day of having fun with the tablet and you will still have some extra. time available. Overall, the hardware in the HTC EVO View 4G is great!
The HTC EVO View 4G has 2(two) cameras. It has 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera and 5 mega-pixel back camera. The pictures that we took were ok, they were not the best. The 1.3 mega-pixel is made for self portraits and video chatting, so the quality is not the best. The 5 mega-pixel back camera gets the job done but, of course could be doing it better. Believe it or not the 5 mega-pixel back camera record 720pHD Video. We have a camera test below, so you can see for your self. Overall, the cameras on the HTC EVO View 4G are good.
HTC Scribe Pen
The scribe pen is what set’s it apart from the other tablets on the market. It is not just the Scribe Pen but, it is also the custom note taking software. When the table is on, you see a glowing pen symbol in the corner next to the regular android buttons. If you tap that with the pen, the magic hub will appear. The Hub is where you can choose all of the different stuff you can do with the pen. You chose the color, the size, and the different writing instrument, like a quill, brush, pencil and much more. When you first do this it will give you an overview of how to use the HTC Scribe Pen. You will get a hang of it, after a few minutes of using it. Since there aren’t many apps, that are meant for use with the HTC Scribe. HTC built it in to the OS(operating system) by themselves. You can take a screenshot or screen-recording of anything. Then you can doodle on it and share it with your friends. HTC also included the “Notes” app, this comes in handy. You can also sync it with the popular app “Evernote”. You can either type with the on-screen keyboard or use the HTC Scribe Pen. Either way it gives you a ton of customization. You also don’t have to push hard on the pen for it to write on the screen, you can hold it very light and works just fine. The HTC Scribe Pen is great, it really separates it from the other tablets available on the market. It gives you ton of customization and it is a great way to play around with the tablet. The HTC Scribe Pen does not come with the tablet, this is the one bad thing. You can get the HTC Scribe Pen from your local Sprint Store or online for around $79.99 . Overall, the HTC Scribe Pen is great!
The HTC EVO View 4G is a great tablet. The HTC Scribe Pen separates it-self from the rest of the tablets on the market. It’s 7 inch size also gives it more portability and makes it easier to use. There is also so much more that makes it one of the best tablets on the market! We would suggest the Sprint HTC EVO View 4G to anyone who is looking for a great tablet, that you can do a lot with. We also definitely suggest that you get the HTC Scribe Pen as well, it will add so much more capabilities to your HTC EVO View 4G experience.
