Design And Hardware

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II has a very nice design. It is AT&T’s thinnest smartphone! The color of the phone is all black, with some silver logos. It is 0.35 inches at its thinnest point and is only 4.3 ounces. It has an amazing 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 800 X 480. It has one of the best screens on the market, if not the best. The colors on the screen are very vivid and the colors are brighter than any other display on the market. Under the screen we have the “Samsung” logo and your regular Android touch buttons. Those are your menu, home, back, and search buttons. Above the screen you have your “AT&T” logo, earpiece, indicator light, and a 2 mega-pixel front facing camera. On the left hand side you have your volume rocker. On the right side you have your power/sleep button. On the top you have your headphone jack. On the bottom you have your micro USB port. On the back you have your “Galaxy S II” logo, an 8 mega-pixel camera with LED Flash. If you take the back cover off your will find your AT&T Sim-Card, 1,650mAh battery, and your MicroSD Card slot. The AT&T Galaxy S II has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB Of RAM, making the phone very fast. You will not be slowed down what so ever when witching in between apps. It also features 16GB of internal memory, as well as a MicroSD Card Slot. Overall, the hardware and design of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II is great!.

Operating System

The AT&T  Samsung Galaxy S II is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung Touch Wiz. Out of the box it is running Android 2.3.4 with Samsung Touch Wiz. I personally really like Samsung Touch Wiz and think it makes the phone much better. It is running Samsung Touch Wiz 4.0, it is the newest version. One of the best features of Samsung Touch Wiz, are the gestures. For instance when you are moving an app from one screen to another, you can just tilt the phone either way to get tot he screen you want to put the icon on. The lock screen is quite simple, which many people will like. It is just a simple cover that you slide away, to unlock your phone. The app menu looks like it would on any other Samsung Smartphone running TouchWiz. While in the applications pages, you can still access your phone, messaging, and web apps. The Applications button gets replace with a button takes you back to your home screen. The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II comes pre-loaded with many apps, like AT&T Code Scanner, AT&T Family Map, AT&T Navigator, The Google Apps, Kies Air, Live TV, myAT&T, Quick Office, Qik Lite, and more! It comes with 2 of Samsung’s Hub applications, the Media Hub and the Social Hub. It does not have the other 2(two), but these will do for most people. In the media hub you can access your media, Movies, and TV Shows. Social Hub is where all of your social networks come together, it an easy way to view all of them from inside 1(one) great app! The phone comes with 3(three) keyboards to choose from, the SWYPE, Android, or the Samsung Keypad. Overall, the operating system and software on the AT&T Galaxy S II are great!

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II features an 8 mega-pixel back camera with LED Flash. It also has a front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera for video chatting or self portraits. The 8 mega-pixel camera on the AT&T Galaxy S II is an amazing camera, the quality of the photos are great and look extremely life-like.  This is one of the best ,if not the best, camera on smart-phone. There are also many effects and options that are available in side of the camera app, like Flash on/off/auto, Shooting Mode, Self Portrait, Scene Mode, Exposure Value, Focus Mode, Timer, Effects, Resolution, Whit Balance, ISO, Metering, Outdoor Visibility, Anti-Shake, Auto Contrast, Blink Detection, Guide Lines, Image Quality, GPS Tag, Shutter Sound, and Much More! When using the camera on the Galaxy S II, you will think that you are using a professional DSLR camera. Samsung has proven themselves over and over again that they have amazing cameras on their smart-phones, that have equally great apps to use them with. The 8 mega-pixel back camera records in up to 1080pHD, it is amazing quality. You can see our video camera test below. The Camera’s on the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II are amazing, and will not disappoint anyone.
