Our friends over at HTC have sent us the T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S for us to review. It is the successor to the HTC Wildfire. While it is a smaller type phone, it still packs some good features. Now, let’s get started with the full review of T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S.

Hardware

The HTC Wildfire S for T-Mobile is not the biggest phone in the world. It is 4.1 inches by 2.3 inches, with a thickness of .49 inches. It only weighs 3.9 ounces, so it a compact device.  It has a 3.2 inch HVGA TFT-LCD Touch Screen with a resolution of 480 X 320. The screen quality is good. Under the screen you have your 4 regular capacitive android buttons, the home, settings, back, and search buttons and the T-Mobile logo. On top of the screen you have the earpiece, HTC Logo and indicator. On the left hand side you have your volume rocker and micro USB port. On the top of the phone you have your headphone jack and your power/sleep button. On the back you have the “HTC Logo” and the “With HTC Sense” logo, you also have your 5 mega-pixel camera with LED Flash, and a speaker. If you take off the curved back cover you will find your 1230mAh Lilon battery, T-Moible Sim Card, and the 2GB MicroSD card that is included. The phone has a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and 512MB of RAM. The phone is fast but, is not the fastest in any phone that we have seen. It also has WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth inside. It also has a G-Sensor, Digital Compass, Proximity Sensor, and an Ambient Light Sensor. The build of the phone is like a strong plastic. Overall, the hardware in the T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S is good and will make the phone last for a long time.

Software

The T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 2.1. Android 2.3 Gingerbread and HTC Sense run very well on the Wildfire S. This thanks to it 512MB of RAM and it’s 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor. The phone comes pre-loaded with several apps, like Friendstream, DoubleTwist, Google Apps, HTC Sense, HTC Likes, Peep, My Device, T-Mobile Mall, Slacker Radio, and more. I personally like HTC Sense very much, i think it makes the phone much simpler to use and many people will like it. The weather app by HTC Sense is great, it has sound effects and better visuals that many people will like. Overall, the operating system and user interface on the HTC Wildfire S is great.

Overall, the T-Mobile HTC Wildfire S is a great phone. It is a very simple to use Android phone that many people will like. It’s compact design makes it very portable.
