T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360 Review - NJTechReviews

Our friends over at T-Mobile have sent us the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360 for us to review. It is one of there newest BlackBerry’s. Does it live up to the new and improved BlackBerry Standards, We will answer this question in our full review. Now, let’s get started with the full review of the T-Mobile BlackBerry Cure 9360!

Hardware

The T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360 has some great hardware in it. On the front of the phone you have your earpiece, LED indicator light, full QWERTY Keyboard, call start/end button, blackberry button, back button, BlackBerry Logo, and T-Mobile Logo. On the left hand side you have your micro USB port. On the right hand side you have your volume rocker and shutter button. The top of the phone you have your headphone jack and lock/unlock buttons. It comes in Merlot and Black, we are reviewing the black version. It has a 2.4inch HVGA+ screen, 800MHz Processor and 512MB of RAM, 2GB microSD card, 1050mAh lithium-ion battery, GSM World Phone, GPS, 5.0 mega-pixel camera with 2 times digital zoom, LED Flash and video recording. It also has many other great features. While it is not the fastest phone out there the 512MB of RAM and the 800MHz Processor, make it fast for a BlackBerry. The 2.4inch HVGA+ screen is great and you will enjoy the great vibrant colors it gives you. However it does not give you that much space, to hold all of your stuff. It comes with a 2GB microSD Card out of the box, however this can be upgraded to a 32GB microSD Card. If your big on putting a lot of things on your phone, I suggest you upgrade it. The phone is really light and thin, giving a lot of portability. It dimensions are 4.3inches by 2.4 inches, and a thickness of only .4inches. It also weighs only 3.9 ounces, we were shocked with how light it was. It has many great features packed into it’s thin and lightweight design. It does not have a front-facing camera, but it does have a back camera. The back camera is 5 mega-pixels with 2x digital zoom, and LED Flash. It also features video recording. The camera is not the best but, it does give you some okay images for a cell-phone camera. The 1050mAh lithium-ion battery will give you are 5 hours of talk time. Overall, the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360 features some great hardware, that makes it a great phone.

Software

Now, the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 9360 features BlackBerry OS 7. It is latest and greatest operating system for BlackBerry’s. While, the Operating System for the most part looks the same, there are some major improvements that have been made. One major improvement is speed this is thanks to the 800MHz Processor and 512MB of RAM. While, it is not the fastest processor on the market, it does get the job done. The BlackBerry has always down email, contacts, and calendar very well, there is no change with this. It still does these very well. One area where it could use some help, is BlackBerry App World. It is still in need of more developers developing more apps for it. Luckily this has been happening and some major improvement can already be seen. My favorite new feature has to be the BlackBerry 6.1 Browser, it is now running on WebKit. This speeds things up by a lot. BlackBerry OS 7 just brings some major speed improvements, which were very badly needed. As of know these improvements have helped the BlackBerry and the future is looking much more brighter.

Bottom Line
