Samsung Epic 4G Touch Review

Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4G Touch Review - NJTechReviews

The Epic 4g touch is a powerhouse in the Sprint line up of smart phones. It’s really hard to find a character flaw with this Samsung Galaxy S II family member. When turning on this phone you can not help but be impressed with its 4.52″ AMOELD plus display. The colors almost seem to jump up at you, it does all this with just 800×480 of resolution. The phone is amazingly light weight, which they were able to achieve with its plastic chassis and body. The weight might be an issue depending on what feel you want from your smart phone. It sits really comfortable in hand even-though it has a

larger form factor than most phones. The touch bar at the button of the touch screen makes it really easy to navigate the menus. This phone has a great engine driving the OS, the 1.2ghz Dual-Core processor will crunch anything your trow its way. Applications and the OS run really smooth and fast, giving you the ability to transition from one app to the other without blinking.

The Epic 4G sports a 8 megapixel rear camera with an led flash and a 2 megapixel front facing one. The picture quality is really good with resolutions of 3264×2448. To accompany the camera feature is their video recording which is able the kick out full 1080p at 30 fps. Overall video quality is really good in well light situations. Now we need storage to be able to store all these great photos, videos, music and apps? Fortunately there is an on board 16 gigs worth of storage, and if that’s not enough for you hungry storage techies there is a micro SD slot upgradable up to 32GB. Giving you a whooping 48GB of storage.

The OS(operating system) is full of sub menus for most of its apps , which aims at customization. Though this might not be the best highlights for someone who is not so tech savvy, techies will love all the options. Call quality is very good and speaker is really crisp. Features for call, voicemail settings and log are easily understood and accessible. The phone is full of great features, with a few stand outs that I really think are great.

Some Cool Features:

Turnover: you automatically ignore a phone call by turning the phone on it glass face and it goes silent. Hopefully your glass is protected!

Tilt: you can zoom in and out by having both thumbs on the screen and tilting your device back and forth.

Swype: gives you the ability to Swype your fingers across the screen to input text. Though not a new feature this text input system works really well and is very accurate. If you have yet to try, it’s a must.

The only con I can find with this phone is it’s voice command system. Unfortunately the voice command is not the Epic 4g Touch shinning moment, hopefully Google is working on a rival to defend its turf. Fortunately this phone has many strong attributes and it’s one of the smartest in the Sprint line up. If you are in the market for a new phone, this one won’t disappoint. It’s clearly a leader in the smart phone category with tons of features that will keep you busy for months. Don’t worry about the challengers, there is enough processing power to keep this phone relevant till the end of your 2 year contract. You Can Get More Info On The Samsung Epic 4G Touch, By Clicking Here. We would like to thank Samsung for providing us with a copy of the “Samsung Epic 4G Touch(Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II Variant).
