Black Piper nv

Last year, Piper made its official launch after an awesome Indiegogo at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, this year they are back and better than ever at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show. They are ushering in a new model of the Piper, introducing the Piper nv! The team at Piper decided to pick three major points of the original Piper to upgrade with the nv version, and overall it is a very nice revamp. It will be officially launching on January 21st, but it is being shown off this week at the 2015 CES!

The biggest feature of the Piper nv has to be the 180-degree Night Vision camera! Keep in mind that this is the highest field of view currently available on the market and it is now has night vision to go along with this. It will automatically kick into night vision mode when it detects that the room is getting dark. This will allow you to truly monitor your home whether it be day or night. Piper also upgrade the camera resolution, in fact they doubled it to a 3.4 megapixel lens. This will make quite a large difference and will make sure that you can see everything, even if you have to zoom in, the image should still be clear. To make sure that the Piper can perform well and handle future upgrades, they have chosen to go with a faster ARM processor in the nv variant. Piper hints that with the faster processor it let them make the nv a future hub for the smart home sometime in the future, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Piper nv also comes in your choice of black or white.

The Piper nv still has many similar features to the original Piper. It still has a security siren which is a loud 105-decibels, along with customized alerts via phone calls, texts, and push notifications. It is a Z-Wave enabled device and you can add certain Z-Wave devices like outlets and window sensors to get even more out of your Piper. Overall, the Piper nv seems like a very nice upgrade and is deserving of the new flagship title for the brand. The Piper nv will cost $269 when it drops on January 21st, plus the original Piper will still be available for a new lower price of $199.99. Stay Tuned To NJTechReviews For More Coverage Of The 2015 Consumer Electronics Show!
