There are hundreds of wearables for humans, from step trackers to sleep trackers to life recording cameras, it’s about time that the most important family member gets one as well. The Scout 5000 is the wearable for your dog and it is most likely the most connected collar in the world. It was designed by Binatone, uses Hubble’s Internet of Things service, and is also in partnership with Motorola. It will be landing this June, but let’s dive into the Scout 5000 a little.

The Scout 5000 does more than just track your dog, it truly is a very connected device. For starters, it has a 720p camera on it and yes you can you watch what your dog is seeing live. In fact it is a wide angle 127-degree camera and it is angled to look straight ahead, so you get the same view as your dog. It will record in 720pHD to the SD card or you can stream it in the cloud via the Hubble app at 480p. You can control if it is recording to the SD card via the smartphone application. You can track your dog and see his or her exact location on a map. Then you can take it a step further and setup a virtual fence and be notified if the dog leaves that area. The Scout 5000 can send you notification if the dog barks, plus it has plenty of sensors to track the dog and make these notifications as accurate as possible. The collar even has a speaker and a microphone, so you can talk to your dog, even though this might freak them out a little. The Scout 5000 is coming in June and will be available in your choice of black or orange, the latter provides a nice pop of color.
