Samsung will bring the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7 to the United States

10

While last night’s late announcement of the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 gave us all the details about the new devices, Samsung was very hush-hush on the availability. We were left with a global rollout starting in August, and that the new tablets would come in both WiFi and LTE variants. But this morning our friends over at Samsung were kind enough to give us a statement about the United States rollout.

“Samsung is excited to bring consumers the latest design and technology advancements to our tablet line with the Tab S2. Our recent press release focused on the global availability of our new flagship tablet. We look forward to sharing more information about the U.S. release of Tab S2 in the coming weeks.”

While the statement is mostly a place holder, they will be sharing more information about the launch of the device in the coming weeks. This would potentially mean that the United States could be apart of the August launch for the new tablets.

Of course, the Galaxy Tab S2 is the new flagship line of tablets for Samsung. They are powered by a Quad 1.9GHz + a Quad 1.3GHz, Octacore application processor with 3GB of RAM and are running Android 5.0 Lollipop with a Samsung user interface. These faster processors should fix the slow performance of the original tablets, plus they will be powering either the 8.0-inch or 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 QXGA Super AMOLED displays. The 8.0 size comes with a 4,000mAh battery, while the larger 9.7 size comes with a 5,870mAh battery. The new Tab S2’s will come with an 8 megapixel shooter on the back, while you get a 2.1 megapixel lens on the front.
