Lenovo’s Y Series ups the anty for gamers with big updates

Lenovo’s Y Series has always had a special place in performance users hearts, more specifically with gamers. And this year at IFA 2015 we are seeing one of the biggest updates to their gaming lineup in quite some time. Introducing the enhanced, refreshed, and updated Lenovo Y Series. We now have the ideacentre Y900 and Y700 desktop towers, the ideapad Y700, and several new Y Series accessories.

Let’s start off the with new ideapad Y700, which was created with performance for gaming and portability in mind. It can be powered by either the latest Intel or AMD processors and discrete graphics to ensure a smooth experience. The Y700 comes in either a 15-inch or 17-inch display size, and on the smaller variant you can get 10-point multi-touch or a RealSense camera built-in. You also get a great sound experience powered by JBL speakers. The ideapad Y700 will start at $949 and will be landing in October.

The Y900 and Y700 desktops might be part of the ideacentre lineup, but they were designed for gaming. They come equipped with up to 6th generation Intel Quad Core i7 processors and discrete graphics, which should give them a very fast experience right out of the box. Lenovo knows that eventually you will want to upgrade, and on both the Y700 and Y900 you can easily upgrade the internals of the computer. It has room inside for up too a ATX motherboard and to support power supplies up to 1000W. For those looking for an even better performance when it comes to graphics, the Y900 can handle up too two graphics cards. Both of the new desktops will be running Windows 10 out of the box. The Y900 will start at $1,599 and the Y700 will start at $999, while both machines will be landing in November of this year.

Last but not least, we have the new Y Series accessories, and Lenovo now wants to be your one stop shop for gaming. The Gaming Surround Sound Headset will retail for $69.99 and features 7.1 virtual surround sound, in-line volume controls, an ergonomic design and more. Lenovo’s Gaming Precision Mouse is coming in at $69.99 as well and features adjustable speeds, eight programmable buttons, and more. Lenovo also has a gaming mouse mat, gaming backpack, and a gaming mechanical switch keyboard coming this year.
