WatchOS 2 is delayed due to a critical bug

WatchOS 2 is delayed

Last week at Apple’s Hey Siri event, the company announced that WatchOS 2 would be dropping on September 16th. This is the first major software update for the Apple Watch. Apple announced earlier today that WatchOS 2 is delayed due to a critical software bug that the development team has found. Apple has not given a firm date for when the upcoming release will drop, but they did say it will happen shortly.

WatchOS 2 brings many new features to the Apple Watch, including the much-anticipated addition of native applications. This will improve launch times of applications, as well as there overall performance on the device. GoPro and Facebook Messenger are just two of many applications that will now be running natively. Apple demoed both of these applications on stage at the event last Wednesday.

Along with the addition of native applications, WatchOS 2 brings with it many other features. This includes a new nightstand mode that will let you use the device as full alarm clock. With digital touch you can be more personal with friends with several new colors for sketches and more than list for friends. The very neat security feature activation lock from iOS and OS X devices, will be coming to the Apple Watch. Siri will be smarter, similar to the enhancements we saw with iOS 9, you can ask her to open up glances, start a workout, find a synonym for a word, get transit directions, and much more.
