Samsung’s 2016 Consumer Electronics Show press conference is underway right now and they just unleashed a new tablet. Introducing the Galaxy TabPro S, a 2-in-1 running Windows 10 with a 12-inch Super AMOLED display. It is meant to integrate the features of laptop and a tablet into one, Samsung thinks they hit the mark here. By providing the functionality of laptop in a lightweight tablet format. It seems to be going up against the Microsoft Surface and even the iPad Pro.

The TabPro S is just 6.3 millimeters thick and weighs in at 693 grams on the WiFi model or 696 grams on the LTE model, it also comes with full-sized keyboard with a trackpad cover out of the box. The keyboard also acts as a stand for the device and has a flexible hinge, allowing you to have dual-angle setups. Similar to the Smart Connector on the iPad Pro, the TabPro S has a Pogo pin that connects the keyboard to the tablet, thus eliminating the need for pairing or charging.

Samsung is delivering the first Super AMOLED display for any Windows device, as the TabPro S has a 12-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160 X 1440. This display should deliver deep color contrast with 94% of natural tones to show true to life colors. Paired with this display is either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro. You can have either 128GB or 256GB solid state drive for storage.

Powering the experience on the TabPro S is a 6th generation Intel Core M processor which clocks in at a dual core 2.2GHz with 4GB of RAM. For connectivity the device will support LTE Category 6 for the fastest network possible, along with WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac MIMO, WiFi Direct, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.1. You should get up to 10.5 hours of battery life courtesy of a 5,200mAh battery and it can be fully charged in only 2.5 hours.

If you need more ports, Samsung will offer a multi-port adapter offering an HDMI, USB Type-A, USB Type-C ports, as well as Bluetooth Pen. Both of these accessories will be sold separately and will launch alongside the TabPro S.

This is the TabPro S and it seems to be a very powerful 2-in-1, but it has some steep competition. Pairing Windows 10 Home or Pro with a 12-inch Super AMOLED display is a phenomenal idea and I am very happy to see it finally happen. The Galaxy TabPro S will launch globally beginning in February 2015.
