Sony’s 2016 Consumer Electronics Show is happening right now and the company has just unleashed their home entertainment lineup for the year. Kicking this lineup off are three 4K HDR Ultra HD televisions, which utilize ultra high-definition displays while also taking advantage of high dynamic range technologies. Not only is just about the picture quality, but they have ultra thin designs as well.

Introducing the XBR-X930D, the XBR-X940D and the XBR-X850D series 4K HDR Ultra HD televisions from Sony. All three of these televisions will be labeled on the box with the 4K HDR Ultra HD logo. Sony has put there own twist on HDR technology, they have X-tended Dynamic Range PRO and TRILUMINOS Display technologies. These technologies deliver more vibrant colors, higher contrast, higher brightness, and all of this coming together results in more depth and detail.

The XBR-X930D models from Sony have a Slim Backlight Drive with precision grid array backlighting technology on board. This will boot and dim the backlights, which is used to create deeper blacks. This will manage the light zone of the image being shown and will work to present the viewer with the best picture possible. All of the 4K HDR Ultra HD TVs will be powered by Sony’s 4K Processor X1.  This chip will enhance contrast, color, and clarity which will boost the quality of 4K images.

The XBR-X930D and XBR- X940D Sony 4K HDR Ultra HD models will have the ultra thin design that the company was showing off during there press conference. This design has a bezel that is very thin and if you mount the TV on the wall, it will be flush on the wall.

All of the new models from Sony will support Google Cast, an easy way to send your entertainment to the television. Many applications already support Google Cast, like HBO Go, and many others will be arriving as well. You can cast from an Android, iOS, Mac, PC, and from Google Chrome.  Along with Google Cast, these new TV’s will be running the Android TV operating system. This smart interface includes a lot of applications and games like Google Play, Amazon Video, YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, PBS, PBS KIDS, HBO NOW, EPIX, Starz Play, iHeartRadio, Fusion, PlutoTV and Vevo. Android TV will also let any Android device connect with these televisions and have a unique entertainment experience. Lastly, Android TV will allow Sony’s TVs too can connect with the Logitech Harmony Hub, which supports more than 270,000 entertainment and IoT devices.
