AT&T is having a pretty solid week when it comes to getting awards, while they didn’t win RootMetrics, they just got a big win. FORTUNE Magazine has just named AT&T the Most Admired Telecommunications Company in 2016. This is the second year that AT&T is receiving this award. Along with taking the highest honor for a telecommunications company, they placed #48 on the World’s 50 Most Admired Companies list.

It should be noted that AT&T is the only telecommunications company on the list, this is a big deal by itself. FORTUNE does a lot to build these list and they base it off of several criteria, including reputations and financial stability. The telecommunications industry is ever-changing and is quite fast-moving. Last year, AT&T acquired DirecTV and this was a big move for the company, which brought more properties to it and many more customers.

Randall Stephenson the chairman and CEO of AT&T was pretty happy with the news, he stated:

“The global telecommunications industry has never been more innovative or dynamic than it is today, which is why this recognition is so special. The credit goes to our employees who work hard every day to connect our customers to everything that matters most in their lives.”
