Samsung’s next galaxy is here and it is two devices; Introducing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. These are the two new flagship devices for Samsung and while they aren’t a crazy upgrade, they bring some nice improvements. Alongside the launch of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, LG showed off the G5 which brings modular a design to the table.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the curved back on the Note 5 is making appearances on both of the devices. The S7 comes in with a 5.5-inch display and S7 Edge with a 5.5-inch display, both with a glass back design. The S7 Edge offers a dual edge experience, hence the reason for a larger display. Both of these displays are Super AMOLED display with an Always-On function. This allows you to quickly view the time and a calendar, along with notifications. The displays have a Quad HD 2560 X 1440 resolution with the S7 having 577-pixels per inch and the Edge coming in at 534-pixels per inch.

Along with a sharp display and build, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge feature an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. Many Samsung fans out there will be happy to hear of the return of this feature, which we last saw on the Galaxy S5. Another big upgrade to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge would be the addition of a hybrid SIM card which allows users to insert a micro SD card. While you only get 32GB of internal storage, you can expand it up too another 200GB. The Galaxy S7 has a 3,000mAh battery and the S7 Edge has a 3,600mAh battery. They both feature fast charging either wired or wirelessly.

The S7 and S7 Edge are running Android 6 Marshmallow with a Samsung user interface. It is powered by a q Quad-core 2.15GHz + 1.6GHz processor with 4GB of RAM. On the Edge you get a new Tasks software feature which makes much better use of the Edges. Both of these devices have a Dual Pixel 12 megapixel with IOS cameras on the back and a 5 megapixel front camera.

The S7 Edge is slightly thinner and lighter at 7.7 millimeters and 157 grams, while the S7 comes in at 7.9 millimeters and weighs in at 152 grams. In terms of connectivity you get NFC, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, ANT+, USB 2.0, and location services. The Galaxy S7 will come in Black Onxy and Gold Platinum, while the S7 Edge will also come in Silver Titanium.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge offer some solid incremental updates to the Galaxy series. I have a feeling the S7 Edge will remain more popular. The S7 and S7 Edge will be coming too AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular on March 11th. Pre-orders will kick off at 8:00AM EST on February 23rd 2016.
