AT&T has launched the It Can Wait campaign in Spanish

AT&T is expanding the It Can Wait campaign today, as you may know this is the carriers effort to stop texting while driving. Or more recently to stop using your phone completely while you are behind the wheel of a car. Today, AT&T is launching the It Can Wait campaign in Spanish for the Hispanic Market. Puede Esperar is being launched in response too 83% of Hispanics admit to using their smartphones behind the wheel. This compares to the 71% of Americans who do this a whole, granted this has gone down since the launch of the original campaign.

Even worse or rather more dangerous is that Half of U.S. Hispanics admit they use their smartphones to social network while driving. This is the reason that the It Can Wait campaign has expanded and Puede Esperar is being launched today. Along with the launch of the new campaign, AT&T is also doing more.

The AT&T DriveMode application for your smartphone is now available in Spanish. This allows users to help curb the urge to use your smartphone while you are driving. Along with offering DriveMode in Spanish, AT&T is also launching a 360° video experience that simulates the potentially deadly consequences of using your phone behind the wheel.
