Dish is bringing a few announcements to the CES 2017 stage; they have already unveiled a partnership with Amazon Alexa, but that is not all. Dish Music is a new mobile application and a feature on the Hopper set-top boxes. Essentially, it lets the Hopper be your music playing device through a plethora of compatible services. This allows you to have a multi-room music setup in your house, depending on how many set-top boxes you have.

Even better Dish Music will work with DTS Play-Fi-enabled speaker, as long as they are on the same wireless network. This means that the Hopper and Dish Music can manage a whole house setup. This provides more value for Dish TV customers, as they don’t have to buy a separate music system.

At launch, Dish Music will work with iHeartRadio, Pandora, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster and Amazon Music. But it can also play the music on your device and from DLNA media server. From the application, you will be able to choose if you want the same stream on all of the boxes or different tracks for each set-top box.

Dish Music will work with the Joey set-top boxes as well as the Hopper 2 and Hopper 3. The service has begun rolling out customers now and will be available to all by February.
