While Apple might be exiting the networking market, Lenovo is entering with a connected storage solution that looks similar to a Time Capsule. Lenovo’s Smart Storage is multi-terabyte wireless storage system with some onboard software.

It comes with either a 2TB or 6TB capacity, both featuring multi-connection capabilities. It is designed to store documents, photos, music, movies, and more. For photo specifically, it has a facial recognition software that can handle and identify thousands of photos at once.

Powering Smart Storage is a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Celeron processor with 2GB of RAM. The storage is not solid state, but rather run of the mill hard drives. For wireless connectivity, it has a dual band 802.11 AC setup. You get two USB 3.0 ports and an ethernet jack on the back of the device.

Lenovo’s Smart Storage will come in a glossy white color and will start at $139 when it lands in May.
