A big them so far at CES, is OLED televisions and at this point, many companies are joining this bandwagon. Sony is no longer not on the train, as they have just unveiled the BRAVIA OLED TV. Similarly to LG, it puts the speakers and the rest of the sound system inside the screen. They are calling it the Acoustic Surface which is powered by the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme.

This Acoustic Surface technology allows the sound to disperse out through the display. The result is a widely spread but balanced sound that is synchronized with the image. The BRAVIA OLED TV features a full 4K HDR display with 8 million self-illuminating pixels. And yes Dolby Vision, as with most OLED TVs, is onboard here. This BRAVIA OLED TV is the  A1E series.

With Acoustic Surface built-in a soundbar or speaker system is no longer a necessity. It also has a sleek design similar to that of Samsung’s new QLED TV and LG’s OLED TV W. While Sony’s BRAVIA A1 4K HDR OLED TV Series will come in 77″, 65″, and 55″ models, pricing and exact availability has not been announced yet.

Alongside the flagship BRAVIA A1E series, Sony introduced the X930E/X940E series. These are 65″ and 55″ 4K HDR Models–But they are LED screens not OLED. They employ a Slim Backlight Drive+ LED screen which delivers high brights and deep blacks. Whether you are watching HDR or non-HDR content, X-tended Dynamic Range PRO will enhance any image shown on the TV.

Both Sony’s LED and OLED television models for 2017 will be running Android TV. The excellent news is that Chromecast functionality is built into these models. You can get access to apps, movies, TV shows, and the Google Assitant right from the TV.
