Polaroid is no stranger to CES, each year they stop by the show and unveil several new products. They no longer make cameras but have their name on a plethora of products. This year, for the 80th anniversary of the company they are introducing the Polaroid Pop.

While this is an instant digital camera, like we have seen from Polaroid in the past, it manges to bring the best of the past and merges it with the affordances of the presence. For instance, the Pop will still let you print full-color photos in the 3×4” format. But it now features a 20-megapixel CMOS sensor and dual LED flash for much better photo quality. It also has image stabilization built-in and records video at 1080pHD.

Polaroid will let you send images directly from the camera to your phone via the Polaroid print application for iOS and Android. The only thing that Polaroid didn’t do this year is make any changes to the paper or printing process. Polaroid still uses ink-free Zero Ink Printing technology, and you will need to buy refills.

The Polaroid Pop will launch in Quarter 4 of 2017 for an unannounced price.
