Nokia is pack and no; they are not making a Windows phone. This time around HMD Global is the new home of Nokia phones, and they have three new smartphones that were unveiled today at MWC 2017. This is the relaunch of the Nokia brand, and these three smartphones will be landing in Quarter 2 of 2017. The real highlight would be that each of these smartphones are running pure Android with the Google Assistant onboard.

The first is the Nokia 6, the flagship of the trio and packs a 5.5-inch 1920 X 1080 Full HD display. There is a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on the screen which should add some durability. The device is made from aluminum, a block of 6000 series aluminum to be specific. There is an embedded 3,000mAh battery inside, along with 32GB or 64GB of storage depending on the color. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Rounding out the device is a 16-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel camera on the back. The Nokia 6 is priced at €229, which converts to about $241 here in the United States.

Next is the Nokia 5 which slightly smaller with a 5.2-inch FHD display. The design is also slightly different with curved edges, which should make the device more comfortable to hold. It also gives the illusion of minimum bezels around the display. It still has an aluminum build and will launch in Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue, and Copper. The Nokia 5 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 2GB of RAM, a 3,000mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot, 13-megapixelgapixel camera, a front 8-megapixel camera, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the Google Assistant. The Nokia 5 will retail for €189, which converts to about $199 in the United States.

Lastly is the entry level Nokia 3 which comes in at just €139 or around $145 in the United States. As expected this device is not high-end but has some solid features. You get a 5-inch 720p IPS display, a 2,650mAh battery, a 1.3GHz MTK 6737 processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a micro SD card slot, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back and front. I should note that the Nokia 3 looks like a Windows Phone Lumia device with aluminum on the sides and a polycarbonate back.

Nokia’s entry into the smartphone market is an interesting one, and there will be some appeal to these devices. Especially when you consider the price and the awesomeness of pure Android.
