Currently, you can get devices with either Amazon’s Alexa or The Google Assistant; there is not currently a solution that provides the end-user with both virtual assistants. The Clarity Speaker wants to change that and is well underway, with a pre-sale campaign that has launched.

The Clarity Speaker has to it a portable design coming in at just 2 pounds. It has a 6-inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 X 800. Powering the device is a customized version of Android 6.0 that can handle apps from the Google Play Store. For music and other sounds, you get two 5-watt speakers which should give a nice experience. With the combination of speakers and displays, you can watch a video on YouTube or stream your favorite TV show with Netflix.

Building off of the portable design is 1,600mAh battery which lets you use the Clarity Speaker when it is not plugged in. It has WiFi, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, along with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. With microphones built-in that work up close and from afar, you can ask for something by saying “Alexa” or can say “Ok Google.” The results from the requests can be heard, as well as seen on the display.

Similar to other smart home products, the Clarity Speaker can be a hub of some sort. Allowing you control select devices directly through voice or via an application from the Google Play store.

Currently, you can grab a Clarity Speaker from its Indiegogo campaign at the discounted price of $149. However, when it ships later this year in June, the Clarity Speaker will retail for $199.
