Since Google launched the Daydream VR headset alongside the Google Pixel, not many other devices have joined in. Which is a shame, as the Daydream View headset has to be one of the most comfortable VR options on the market. And Samsung just launched their flagship devices, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, but they did not have support out of the box.

Well on stage at Google I/O it was just announced that the S8 and S8 Plus will gain support for the Daydream VR later this year. It will come in the form of a software update, which means it will be super simple to gain the ability.

Google also noted that more devices with Daydream VR support are coming later this year, including LG’s next flagship device.
