Tim Cook has just announced the Apple TV 4K on stage and the logo is pretty epic. And 4K has 4 times the number of pixels as HD and it also packs in HDR. The new Apple TV 4K features support for HDR 4K and Dolby Vision.

The Apple TV 4K is powered by the A10X Fusion Chip, which delivers double the CPU performance of the previous Apple TV. Apple has partnered with all of the large Hollywood studios to get you 4K quality movies at the same price as HD. And if you previously bought HD movies, they will get updated to 4K HDR at no additional cost. Amazon Prime Video and Netflix will stream in 4K HDR as well.

Apple is bringing the TV App to seven new countries by the end of the year, including Australia. Local services will be added city by city to the TV app at launch. Live Sports and News will also be added into the TV app through apps like ESPN Now.

The new Apple TV 4K will start at $179 with pre-orders starting on September 15th, with a launch on September 22nd.
