Sony just announced it was adding SS-CSE Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers to its CS-Series speakers. Dolby Atmos creates a three-dimensional audio experience by surrounding you with sound and selectively controlling the directions of that sound to make it seem like the action is happening in the room with you. With Sony’s new speakers, designed to sit on top of SS-CS3 floor speakers and SS-CS5 bookshelf speakers, Dolby Atmos can bring a cinematic audio experience straight to your home, providing any home theater with intense sound.

The speakers are designed to be low-key and compact, sporting a functional black exterior to allow them to be placed discreetly anywhere in the room. The SS-CSE Speakers don’t require mounting equipment, which further simplifies the setup process: they only need to be placed on top of a floor speaker or a bookshelf. They are meant to match the other speakers in the series, allowing the complete setup to look coordinated and sleek.

Sony also released their new STR-DH790 7.2ch 4K HDR AV Receiver, which supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X; this receiver makes an effective match for the SS-CSE speakers. Sony’s other compatible products include the STR-DN1080 7.2 ch. Dolby Atmos Wi-Fi Network AV Receiver, another powerful receiver that pairs nicely with the SS-CSE. On top of that, the previous speakers in the CS series pair aesthetically and functionally with the SS-CSE. Sony’s complementary products allow customers to create the full home theater experience with one brand’s sleek and simple products to complete the setup.
