It is known by most that Samsung’s next flagship device is the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, which will succeed the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Two devices that performed very well and represented a solid Android device with a signature Samsung twist. And while the S8 introduced us to the Infinity Display, it seems the Galaxy S9 will be more of the same.
The serial leaker Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, is back at it again with our first look at the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus. It seems pretty clear that they are keeping the Infinity Edge display and keeping the same sensor and camera set up on the top. It is not getting a notch like the iPhone X or the Essential Phone but is going the route of the Pixel 2 XL with no side bezels, but keeping the top and bottom ones.
Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 25th. They are focusing in on the back camera and saying that they have “reinvented” in as teased on the invite. It seems that design wise Samsung is keeping it in the family lineage and we won’t see a full redesign this year. Rumor has it though that Samsung will be copying the iPhone X’s Animoji feature over to the S9 and S9 Plus.
