Snapchat has rolled out a live video feature just in time for the 2018 Olympics.  Six-minute live segments from the Olympics in PyeongChang will be streamed by NBC through the Snapchat app.  Users can choose to be alerted of when their favorite events are about to happen.

NBC made this exclusive deal with Snapchat in 2018, which is reminiscent of their deal from the 2016 Olympics in Rio wherein Snapchat’s “Discover” feature made clips from the Games available.  However, the 2018 iteration adds “Context Cards” along with live segments.  These cards are found in the “Our Story” segment of Snapchat.

These features are launching while many Snap users are updating to the redesigned interface.  Along with watching the top moments, Olympics themed filters and stickers are rolling out, plus a dedicated section in Stories for several USA athletes to chronicle their experiences.

Snap’s Olympic Context Cards rolled out earlier this week, while the top moments live feature has launched today.
