Back at the 2018 Mobile World Congress, Sony unveiled the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact— a needed revamp for the flagship Xperia line.
However, the announcement at the time did not include pricing or exact availability, but Sony is now giving us some more information. In the United States, the Xperia XZ2 Compact will start at $649, and the Xperia XZ2 is starting at $799. BestBuy will have an exclusive pre-order period for both devices from April 13th to April 19th, with official order starting on April 20th. The XZ2 and XZ2 Compact land in BestBuy retail locations on May 6th, along with Amazon and other retailers.
Sony’s Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact feature a new ambient flow design ethos that either has an all-glass design or a hard-coated polycarbonate one. You also get Full HD+ HDR displays that feature TRILUMINOS, along with Android 8.0 Oreo under a Sony user interface. They are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with an X20 LTE chip along with 4GBs of RAM.
It is important to note that in the United States the XZ2 Compact is Verizon certified, along with GSM-carrier support. While the flagship Xperia XZ2 will work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States. We look forward to going hands-on with the Sony Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact soon.
