Fuse has recently released the Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity Camo Headphones, new headphones with a forest camo design. I was given a chance to test them, and here’s what I found:
Sound Quality
The sound quality provided by the headphones is above average for the price. They have a good bass and provide a crisp sound from low to moderate volume. Towards the higher decibels a sort of buzzing emminates from the headphones, which can be distracting. Another downside is that the headphones are not sound canceling, however, they never advertised to be anyway. For the casually listener with a sensitive ear, these headphones provide more than adequate sound for their price.
Appearance
As the name suggests, the headphones are dressed in forest camo. A felty plastic with the forest design adorns the outside of each speaker and halfway up the band. It looks very similar the to the outfits extreme paintballers or sport hunters wear, which is perfect for someone looking to blend in with nature while listening to music. The headphone pads, expanding center band, and audio wire are all black, which blends well with the camp.
Feel
One of the most important aspects of a headphone is the way it forms the listener’s ears, head, and needs. These headphones do a good job of being solid, and lesser job at being comfortable. The headphones are very snug to put on, which can be slightly uncomfortable. This also causes a rustling sound to be made whenever the wearer moves his head. However, for runners, the headphones do stay on despite the activity. The wire connecting the headphones to the MP3 player was usually thick and long, which I appreciated. I’m always annoyed when a wire snaps or is pulled from my device when I drop my phone, and I did not have to worry about that with these headphones. Also, for anyone with a large head, like me, the headphones are adjustable, one size fits most people.
Overall
The Fuse Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity Camo Headphones are a good pair of headphones for their price. They provide sound quality that will satisfy the majority of listeners and a design that is creative and unique. Though it has some hardware issues, it is nothing that should stop a user from appreciating the headphones. So, on your next trip deer hunting, considering bring along a pair of these headphones.
