When the LG G2 was announced earlier this month, they said the device would have Near Field Communications or NFC built-in. However, they did not touch whether or not it would feature wireless charging. NJTechReviews has just gotten a statement from Esmeralda Cameron, Verizon Wireless’ public relations manager for the New York Metro Region, in regards to wireless charging on the LG G2:
Wireless charging is an exclusive feature of the LG G2. It’s wireless charging capable out of box. We’re excited to offer another product and service that meets the needs of our mobile consumers and truly empower our customers.
As you can see wireless charging will be exclusive to the Verizon Wireless LG G2! It will have the capability right out of the box, this way you don’t need to by a special back or case to wireless charge. You will just need to get a wireless charging pad, many different options are available from. LG does make the worlds smallest wireless charger and Verizon retail stores should sell wireless charging pads as well. We don’t have an exact date of when the LG G2 will be available on Verizon or pricing just yet, but they did launch a sign up page earlier this week. Stay tuned for our full review of the Verizon Wireless LG G2.
