At the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, Lenovo has just announced three new products that are built for a consumers lifestyle! These include the Y40, Y50, Z40, and Z50 laptops and the C560 desktop. Some of these specialize in a multimedia experience and some are more focused on productivity. Then there is the one meant for the home, as it is will be used by a family.
The new Y series laptops, the Y40 and Y50 look amazing, to say the least. These appear to be the higher end of the new consumer laptops announced today. They look really nice, encased in black with red accents. These accents are found above the keyboard that is backlit via a red light. The Y40 features a 14-inch full HD display that is not a touch screen. On the Y50 you can get it with touch or without, a 15.6-inch full HD display is in store on that device. Graphics wise, the Y series really shows this as a main feature. On the Y40 you can get an AMD Radeon and a NVIDIA GeForce on the Y50. They are both running Windows 8.1 and you can choose from either a SSD or a regular HD. They are powered by up to a 4th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with up to 16GB of RAM. The red accented speakers are JBL and feature Dolby Home Theater v4. The Y series is the new multimedia powerhouse for consumers, perfect for watching movies, gaming, editing photos, browsing the web, and much more. The Y40 and Y50 will start at $999 and will be landing in May.
Next up we have the new Z series, which are more affordable multimedia laptops. The Z40 features a 14-inch optional full HD display with a resolution of 1920 X 1080. The Z40 comes in at 4-pounds, while the Z50 is 5-pounds. The later also has a 15.6-inch optional full HD display. They both are powered by up to a 4th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with up to 16GB of RAM. They are running Windows 8.1 and feature Lenovo VeriFace Pro, which will allow you to login in to the laptop via your face. Motion control and WiDi for sharing are both on board. The Z series come in different colors as well, your choice of black, silver, or white. The Lenovo Z40 and Z50 will start at $599 and will be landing in March.
Lastly, we have the C560 All In One Touchscreen desktop that is built for the family. It combines great design, hardware, and software into an affordable package. It will come in your choice of either jet black or glossy white, with a nice silver stand. It features a 23-inch full HD LED 1920 X 1080 display with optional multitouch. The touch element will let you truly interact with your applications. If you want to share your screen with a bigger display, a HDMI port is built-in. You can even use the C560 as a TV, thanks to the optional TV tuner. It is powered by a fast 4th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with up to 8GB of RAM. It is running Windows 8.1 and features Lenovo Assistant, this will help you organize your files and clean out the junk. It has a built-in DVD burner and reader, plus front facing speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio. For storage you can have up to 2TB internally, it is quite easy to upgrade the hard drive as well. The C560 seems like the ultimate family desktop, it will start at $659 and lands in February.
Lenovo has added three new products to its consumer lineup and they all fit the consumer lifestyle. The Y series is built for performance, the consumer looking for cutting edge performance to have some fun and still be productive. The Z series is an affordable consumer laptop, that has a nice design and hardware that pairs well. Lastly, we have the C560 which might become the king of the family room desktops.
