Entering into the right is the next generation smart camera from Samsung, it is no longer an experiment or in a test phase. They have made the updates, to make the customer experience better and to make a better product. So, let’s dive into our full hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2.
The first thing you notice is how much thinner and lighter this device is, coming in at around 280 grams and much thinner. It can probably fit in your pocket much better now, which is good. Two colors for your choosing, either silver or blue and it looks like a retro device. You get the same 16M BSI CMOS Sensor and 21x Optical Zoom, so most likely it is the same performance. We snapped a few quick photos and they came out pretty good. No Android 4.4 KitKat for the Camera 2 yet, hopefully an update is coming. Out of the box it is running Android 4.3 JellyBean with the regular user interface from Samsung. It had some good performance via a 1.6GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM. It has some unique features like Selfie Alarm, which will enhance your experience with the device. The new display worked very well under all of the lights at the Samsung booth, you will find a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear Touch LCD.
No pricing or availability has been announced just yet for the Galaxy Camera 2, but it will hopefully be coming soon. In the US we are expecting to see a WiFi variant and free cellular variants going to carriers. You can see our video hands-on and gallery below.
