Ashton Kutcher last worked with Lenovo on the Yoga Tablet, but he is an official product engineer and they had quite the event today in London. The first of these announcements, is a major and well deserved one, introducing the YOGA Pro 3. For starters it is has a much improved design, being both lighter and thinner, and an all new watchband hinge. Along with the improvements on the outside, it features a nice bump in hardware, including a QHD+ display.
The hinge on the YOGA 3 Pro is built up from more than 800 pieces of aluminum and steel and this is the new watchband hinge. On the older model it had a two hinge design, on the YOGA 3 Pro there are six focus points, it uses the technology in metal watchbands to allow for a large degree of flexibility and flatness. It comes in at a very thing 12.8 millimeters and is only 1.19 kilograms light. It comes in three eye-catching colors including clementine orange, platinum silver, and champagne gold.
For speed, the YOGA Pro 3 is powered by up to a 256 GB solid state drive and up to a Intel Core M-70 processor with integrated Intel graphics. A battery life bump is in store, as the Pro 3 can run up to a nine hours on a single charge. For connectivity, it has support for high-speed connectivity via 802.11 a/c WiFi. The display is a full QHD+ screen with a resolution of 3200 X 1800, plus it is touch screen and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Going along with the beautiful display, is a rich sound experience from JBL speakers with Waves Audio.
Along with Windows 8, Lenovo created the new Harmony software experience. This will allow you to find and use applications, but then control how they run. So, if you reading a book it will adjust the brightness and color settings for a better viewing experience. Or if you are using the YOGA Pro 3 to show a PowerPoint presentation, it will turn on motion or voice controls for you. Depending on which mode you are using the device in, it will suggest how to use it and new applications.
The Lenovo YOGA Pro 3 will be available by the end of the month from Lenovo and BestBuy, it will be starting at an MSRP of $1349.
