At a press conference today Control4 has announced a new enhanced “Listen” experience! They unveiled the new Control 4 OS 2.4 system that will give you more way to personalize music. TuneIn will be included in the new OS 2.4, which will be available in Quarter 2 of 2013. It is a global music service that is fully integrated, you will have to podcasts, radio stations, and much more. You will be able to find your favorite musicians, songs, albums, radio shows(globally), and more. It will be integrated with Control4 audio zones, this way you can choose what you want to listen too at the same time as other family members are listing to music as well. If you have a Control4 system already you should be able to upgrade to the new OS 2.4 and you will be able to enjoy TuneIn! TuneIn will be available on April 1, 2013! Next up we have the Control4 Wireless Music Bridge which allows you to stream music through applications. From there your device will wirelessly connect to the Control4 system. Then you can stream music that is stored on your device or from a service, like Spotify, right to your speakers so you can enjoy it. It will take the album artwork and data about that song and send it the Control4 system. This way you can view it on your entire system, even from the touch-panels, TV on-screens and the MyHome app. The Music Bridge offers connectivity via WiFi, Bluetooth, DLNA, and Ethernet. The Control4 Wireless Music Bridge should be available in Quarter 2 of 2013 for an estimated retail price of $300 in the United States. If you are looking to create a wireless music entertainment system, you could get a basic system from Control4 and the Wireless Music Bridge to accomplish this. I cannot wait to play around with all of these great enhanced audio experiences from Control4. For more information check out the gallery and press release below.
