SEIDIO ACTIVE with Multi-Purpose Cover for Google Nexus 7 Review

Seidio generously sent us a brand new ACTIVE case to test out!  We were impressed with ACTIVE case as soon as we got our hands on it.  The build quality of the unit equals nothing but durable.  The Seidio ACTIVE case is composed of two pieces, one rubber cover that fits on the Nexus 7 snugly to absorb any shock the case may endure, and the second piece is a hard exterior skeleton that clips on top of the rubber cover.   An optional convertible Mounting Cover allows for the front of your tablet to be protected when carrying it and also always you to prop up the tablet when watching movies, videos, or browsing the internet.  The description on the box sums up exactly what this case is all about: “created for those that have and want to maintain their active lifestyle, the ACTIVE case provides great shock absorption while adding minimal bulk to your device.  This two-layer case features a compact and lightweight rubber polymer with a precisely positioned hard skeleton for added protection on the corners and sides.”

Pros:

+ Lots of protection without too much bulk added

+ Volume rocker and Wake/Sleep buttons still easily accessed

Cons:

– Added weight and bulk, although minimal still noticeable

– The optional convertible Mounting Cover is a completely separate piece that may get lost

The Bottom Line:

The Seidio ACTIVE case is perfect for those Nexus 7 users that need a case that is durable.  I highly recommend the optional convertible Mounting Cover for those users that travel.  The build quality, overall feel, durability,  and simple use of the Seidio ACTIVE case will make you rest easy that your Nexus 7 is completely safe from any shocks or drops you may throw at it.   I do think however if you fit in the category of not traveling with / light use of your tablet you may want to go with a case that is smaller and less noticeable.
