FrogEye PowerPlay P80 Review

Our friends over at FrogEye have sent us the PowerPlay P80 for us to review! FrogEye is a new company that lives by this quote, “Your Life, Own It!”. The PowerPlay P80 is one of their mobile power banks, similar to products made by Mophie. However, FrogEye has certainly put their own spin on a mobile power bank with the PowerPlay P80. NJTechReviews has done a large amount of testing on this device and now it is time for the full verdict. Let’s dive into the FrogEye PowerPlay P80 Review!

Design

FrogEye has done a great design with boxes on all of their products and the box for the PowerPlay P80 is no different. When you see this box you know it is under the FrogEye brand. It is a very compact design as well, they tried to be as eco-friendly as possible. When you open the box you will find the product itself, as well as many accessories that come along with it! Everything fits in the box, with minimal space left over. Once again this shows that they are trying to be eco-friendly.

The design of the PowerPlay P80 is nice and it is portable. This way you can take the mobile power bank with you and hopefully you wont run out of battery on your smart device. We have been testing out the silver unit, but it comes in array of colors. Those being Black, Rose, Silver, SkyBlue, and White. The color does not change the price of the device either. On the top of the device you will find the FrogEye logo and a button. This button will let you see the current battery level of the device. If you flip the device over you will just fine a FrogEye logo. On the top side you will input and output capacities for the device and the model name. On the front of the device you will find 2(two) USB ports and a micro USB port. The micro USB port is used to charge the PowerPlay P80 itself. The height of the unit is just .91-inches and to make the design as small as possible both the width and length are 3.15-inches. The device is curved, which adds the design. I was happy they did not just go with a square design. It comes in at just 135 grams as well, making it not too heavy. You can throw it in your backpack or purse, it will not add too much weight or take up to much space. Overall, I was very happy with the design of he PowerPlay P80 as they made sure that it would be an ultra portable device.

Hardware

The PowerPlay P80 has some hardware in it, but not the hardware that you would see in a phone. The hardware inside the PowerPlay P80 is their to make sure you can keep your device’s battery full. You have a total of 3(three) ports on this device and 1(one) button. This makes it super easy to use and very user-friendly.

The 1(one) button on the top of the device will let you see the battery status of the device. You will see 4(four) bars light up, in the case of the Silver unit the backlighting was blue. 4(four) bars means that you are full charged, and as you get lower it shows that you are getting closer and closer to empty. These status bars come in very handy and very easy to use.

As I mentioned before there are 2(two) USB ports on the device. The port with the 2(two) lighting bolts above the device us the faster charging port at 1200mAh, this will also use up more of your battery. However, if you need a quick refill of power on your smartphone this would be the port for you. The port with 1(one) lightning bolt is the regular charging port at 500mAh, this is about half the size of the faster port. The micro USB port is for charging the PowerPlay P80 itself and you can do this using the include micro USB port. You also get many charging adapters from a micro USB to a mini USB, FrogEye made sure to include everything you need in the box. You get a carrying cover for the PowerPlay P80 in the box as well.

The battery inside of the PowerPlay P80 is 8000mAh and during our testing we put it through the works. On an average smartphone it was able to charge it too charge it 2(two) times fully and a tablet once. This device came in very handy on road trips and when doing live event coverage. You have to remember that the P80 can also power cameras, MP3 players, video cameras, and many other devices. It comes in very handy for powering up your smartphone or tablet. It is very efficient as well and will help you make the most out of your smartphone or other device.

Bottom Line

The FrogEye PowerPlay P80 is a great mobile power bank and the price for the device is not that bad. It comes in at the price of $109.95 and this is a pretty good deal. Other brand charge around $100 for a 6000mAh mobile power bank, while the P80 is 8000mAh. The FrogEye P80 comes in an array colors of well and adding a pop of color to your technology is always nice. The P80 is ultra-portable as well and it will fit into your everyday life style and will not weigh down your bag if you need to bring it with you. I would highly recommend that you take a look at the FrogEye PowerPlay P80 if you are looking for a mobile power bank! Plus you get many different charging adapters, a carrying bag, and more right in the box. For More Information On The FrogEye PowerPlay P80, Please Click Here. We would like to thank FrogEye for providing us with a copy of the “FrogEye PowerPlay P80″.
