Our friends over at Samsung Electronics America have sent us the UN32F5000 for us to review. This is a 32-inch LED 1080pHD TV made by Samsung. While the UN32F5000 is not a Smart TV, it is still an entry level product, with some great features. This would be great if you already had a streaming player, as you can easily hook it up in to the device. With a sea of many different 32-inch televisions on the market, is the Samsung UN32F5000 your best bet? We will answer that in our full review, which begins right now!
Design
Like most TV’s the Samsung UN32F5000 has an interesting design, a strong metal and plastic build with a nice black color. The color has a very nice glossy finish, but it does not show fingerprints. You have a Samsung logo on the front and a nice strong stand is included in the box. The stand continues the design of the TV and it is not too big at 7.5-inches in diameter. Of course you can wall mount the TV as well. It is a very sleek and modern design, the bezel is very thin at just 0.5-inches. It does not disrupt the actual viewing of the TV, it offers some contrast in reality. It is very light and you can easily move it if necessary. Gone are the days of TV’s having the large backsides, on this 32-inch it is only 1.9-inches.
Visuals And Ports
The Samsung UN32F5000 has a gorgeous display, an absolutely gorgeous display, especially for an entry level product. Having a full 1080pHD display paired with a Clear Motion Rate of 120, means you get a great experience. The images truly look like they are actually happening, it is very life-like. Full 1080pHD means a resolution of 1920 X 1080. If you’re not watching HD content, Wide Color Enhancer will make your content clearer and more vibrant. With a built-in Eco Sensor the television will sense the light in the room and adjust the brightness of the image accordingly. Not only does this give you a better image, but makes it more energy-efficient.
While the Samsung UN32F5000 is not a Smart TV, you can make a Smart TV via streaming player, like a NeoTV or Chromecast. You get 2(two) HDMI ports, so one for your cable box and one for whatever you would like to connect. One smart feature of this device is Connect Share Movie, it will let you view photos, watch a movie, or even listen to music. Via the USB port on the back, just pop a flash drive in and start watching away. It supports MP3′s, JPEG’s, AVI’s, and many others. An Optical, Audio, and Component ports are on board as well.
Sound And Ease Of Use
The Samsung UN32F5000 does not only have a great design and visuals, but sound is another thing they hit out of the park. It has down firing full range speakers, that can fill an entire room. This speaker setup is paired with Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Premium Sound 5.1 technologies. Dolby Digital Plus enhances and tunes the sound with what you are watching, this way you get the best experience possible. DTS Premium Sound 5.1 decodes encoded content and unlocks the true potential of the audio, for the best experience possible. From watching Bobs Burgers to a Bruce Springsteen concert, the UN32F5000 creates and turns out an exceptional sounding performance every time.
There is a very easy setup with the UN32F5000 as well, simply just plug the device in and throw some batteries into the remote. From there you follow the on-screen instructions which are very detailed. The ports are really easy to access, all of them being nicely located on the back. The TV picks up the commands of the remote very quickly, lowering or raising the volume happens very quickly. The inferred port works great and picks up the remote very nicely and has a good sense of field.
Bottom Line
The Samsung UN32F5000 is by far the best entry-level TV on the market with out smart features. If you already have a streaming player, you are already to go. The visuals are exceptionally beautiful and you will be amazed each time you view content. While you only have 2(two) HDMI ports, it should be more than enough, plus you get Connect Share Movie capabilities via a USB port. You will be amazed by the sound of the TV and it will truly fill the room. To wrap it up Samsung has great user interface, that is super easy to use, it is truly a plug and play TV. A great sleek and modern design, that will compliment any room. At $499.99 direct from Samsung, this is the best entry-level TV on the market. If you are looking for a television that does not have all of the smart features, great sound, awesome visuals, and more, then the UN32F5000 mis for you.
