Verizon Handles 1.9 Terabytes Of Data At Super Bowl XLVIII!

Verizon Gate

We knew that bringing the Super Bowl to New Jersey would bring a lot of people and chances were that they would be posting, tweeting, texting, and more at the game. Little did we know that Verizon’s network would see an unprecedented volume of data usage. At the heaviest time, in comparison to last years Super Bowl, the network was handled more than 800 percent data. A total 1.9 Terabytes was used at the Super Bowl, this is the highest record for the network and will most likely hold it for sometime. During the halftime show, was when the network saw the most amount of usage, the most traffic the MetLife stadium Verizon network had ever seen. We have to remember that Verizon has been prepping MetLife stadium for over 18 months, I’m just happy to see they were able to handle this much data. To say the least many of the fans were texting, tweeting, instagraming, snapchatting, and more the night away. I will be surprised if next years Super Bowl breaks this years record of 1.9 Terabytes.
