Design
Streamlined. Sleek. Modern. These are the three words that come to mind when you first see the device. It amazes me that you can make a flash drive look nice and SanDisk really strived for that and then perfected it. It really lets the device be picked out from the thousands of them available. It kind of provides a description, for what the device is. It is performance flash drive for pros and will handle almost any job you put it through. The USB 3.0 connector comes out of the device via a slider. The slider is really nice, a very smooth slide, that clicks in. Thus telling you when to stop and so that you don’t push it out too far. The slider piece is built into the black line running down the middle of the top of the device. The rest of the flash drive is a sleek silver color and there is very little branding on the device. On the top you have a SanDisk logo and a USB 3.0 logo. If you flip it over, you have some FCC info and a few specs. It blends into the silver aluminum on the bottom. There is a space where you can attach a lanyard of key chain to the device as well.
Speed
We put the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 Flash Drive through some speed or benchmark tests. We went back and forth transferring a 1000-megabyte file and we averaged out both the read and write speeds. What we found, was that this drive is crazy fast. Our average read speed was 260 MB/s and our average write speed was 244 MB/s. This is super fast when you think about it, clearly the fastest drive on the market. You can store a very large amount of files on this drive, up to 128GB. These transfer speeds really don’t slow down when the drive is full or when you are transferring large files.
