Republic Wireless is not the ordinary wireless carrier, it saves the customer money by using WiFi and cellular technologies. They offer plans starting at low as $5 a month, this includes calling, texting, and data. Starting in April they will be adding the Moto G to their lineup. They are a no contract carrier as well, meaning that while the devices might cost a lot more, you save it monthly. However, the Moto G is a very affordable device.

On Republic Wireless they will offer the 8GB and 16GB variants of the device, coming in at $149 for the 8GB and $179 for the 16GB. NJTechReviews recently called the Moto G the best 3G device available on Boost Mobile and one of the best most affordable smartphones on the market. Republic Wireless’s Moto G variant will ship with Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 out of the box. This is paired with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The Moto G also features a 4.5-inch 720pHD display, a 2070mAh battery, a 1.3 megapixel front camera, a 5 megapixel back camera, and more.

Republic Wireless offers three plans for you to choose from, all of them are quite cheap in comparison to other carriers. For $5 a month you get unlimited talk, text, and data on WiFi only. For $10 a month you upgrade to unlimited talk and text on WiFi and cellular, and unlimited data on WiFi. Lastly for $25 a month you get unlimited talk, text and data on WiFi, plus talk, text and data on 3G cellular. When you get a device on Republic Wireless it will operative over WiFi and when there is no WiFi, you switch right over to cellular.

It is nice to see that Republic Wireless is expanding their lineup. By pairing a great affordable smartphone like the Moto G, with their super affordable and unique monthly plans, it appears to be a win win. For more information, please see the press release below.

Press Release

Game-Changing Republic Wireless adds Moto G with Android KitKat to lineup beginning in April for $149 with no-contract plans starting at $5/month

The pioneering mobile service provider that helps consumers save money on wireless service will offer the affordable category redefining Moto G smartphone with unlimited calling, texting and data plans for as little as $5 per month. Beginning in April, the Moto G will be offered starting at $149 with no contract. Republic’s nationwide customers have saved millions of dollars on mobile smartphone services since 2011.

RALEIGH, NC – March 13, 2013 – Republic Wireless, the hybrid smartphone wireless service provider that saves consumers money on wireless service by harnessing the power of both WiFi and cellular, today announced it will offer Motorola’s Moto G smartphone with KitKat 4.4.2 for $149 with no contract, beginning in April.

“The Moto G blows every other smartphone in the affordable category out of the water. I’ve been driving the Moto G as my primary phone for the past month, and I can honestly say that dollar for dollar, this is the best smartphone out there – never before has so much smartphone cost so little. We are super excited to offer the Moto G with the lowest priced plans in the country delivered by Republic. This well-reviewed device far exceeds the expectations of people who want a world-class smartphone experience for $149,” says David Morken, co-founder and CEO of Republic Wireless.

Three years ago when we started Republic Wireless, we decided to redesign the mobile experience from the ground up, to challenge conventions and pioneer greater value for all. We declared our mission was to make smartphones available to everyone. Today’s announcement that the category redefining Moto G is available with the best value service plans from Republic Wireless means our goal is within reach for far more people than ever before.”

“The distinction between Republic and all the other carriers is this:  We believe that all consumers deserve better than the status quo of temporary ‘gotcha’ promotions, long-term contracts, variable pricing, ‘free’ service that has major limitations, and super low cellular data allotments buried in the fine print. With WiFi as the primary network and cellular as the back-up network, we can honestly offer the American consumer the best value for the money and the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry. It’s a model that we believe will soon be embraced by the mass market and appeal to millions of customers.”

Starting in April, Republic will offer both an 8 GB Moto G version for $149 and a 16GB version at $179 – as always with no contract. Members can pick from one of several pricing plans for the Moto G, selecting a plan that best fits their lifestyle versus overpaying for cellular service they don’t need 24×7.

“We’ve attracted a tremendous following at Republic, and along the way, we’ve seen our efforts spark other carriers to reduce their pricing. It fires me up to see the impact we’ve had on the mobile providers and where we’ve pushed the competition to go. My wife and I are proud parents of six children – we know what it’s like to get a $1,000 mobile phone bill each month. Today our bill, for a family of eight, is less than $200. We hear daily from our customers just like me, telling us how much Republic has allowed them to minimize the costs of owning a smartphone,” Morken added.

The Moto G was first introduced to the market in November of last year and it is widely acknowledged as the best mid-tier smartphone in the market today. Sporting a super sharp HD display and the newest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 quad-core processor, the Moto G was designed for all the things people want to do on the go – check email or send a message on the fly, take and share photos, watch videos, check scores, get directions, listen to music and much more with all-day battery life. The Moto G is a smart device built for fun – customers can mix and match and change things up with different color backs, called Motorola shells, whenever the mood strikes. The Moto G, runs on the Android operating system, and provides easy access to Google Mobile™ services and more than one million apps and games. And with a guaranteed upgrade, users will enjoy the latest and greatest Android experiences.
