Moto 360 Is Motorola’s Time Piece Powered By Android Wear!

Back at Mobile World Congress, Motorola confirmed that a time piece was coming. Motorola already had the MOTOACTV, which was their fitness oriented smart wearable. With today’s announcement of Android Wear by Google, Android is now doing wearables. The biggest piece of wearables, at least for the time being, has to be smart watches. Now, they have their first time piece powered by Android Wear, the Moto 360.

Flat out first thoughts on the Motor 360, is how beautiful it is. Easily the nicest looking smart watch to be announced. It moves away from the square design, it goes back to the original watches and goes with a round display. A key part of this design, from the photos that Motorola has released, is that it looks like a watch. It is fashionable and plays homage back to a staple in the fashion industry. The Moto 360 will be coming in the Summer of 2014 and like the Moto X will come in several different styles. We can see that a metal finish with a metal band is one of them, at least so far it is.

The Moto 360 is running Android Wear and will most likely have some customizations made on it. For instance “OK Google” will be integrated in to the operating system, meaning you can talk to your wrist and getting the things you need to get done faster. These can be things like sport game updates, taking notes, tracking a flight, and more. Motorola is saying the Moto 360 will let you know things you need to know before you need to know them. It will accomplish these through simple and subtle notifications, plus with a simple twist of your wrist you can see the latest news thats important to you.

This is just the tip of the iceberg on the Moto 360, it is nice to see that Motorola is still working with Google by using Android Wear. The Moto 360 will be coming in the Summer of 2014. Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19 at 1pm CT, Motorola will be hosting a live Hangout on Air with Jim Wicks, head of Motorola Consumer Experience Design. This will be a chance for Motorola to explain more about the device and its features, specifically its nice design. You can see a video and gallery below.
